He circled around her,
observing her nature –
breathing in her perfume.
He caressed her petals,
complimented her soft sepals –
yet she remained unmoved.
Go away, she whispered.
Determined and proud, he lingered-
trying to change her mood.
Beautiful flower, it’s fate
that dictates I’m to pollinate
you!
Not even swayed by him a little,
she loaded her pistil
and shot him clear through.
Stupid wasp, you should have listened!
Were those her tears that glistened,
or were they morning dew?
Spitting up nectar,
He told her before expiring,
A wasp can’t help but love a flower –
even one as brutal as you.

The flower should “bee” kind to wasps, too! Lol. Thank you Sheldon, for taking the time to visit and comment. 🌷 🌼 🌸 🌷 🌼 🌸 🌷

I am so impressed;siren song with words, deep poem, dripping with symbolic meaning including the message: “do as you are told”, otherwise:…DEATH…nature red in tooth and claw.

I’ve always loved you writing, but you’ve been on a fierce tear lately, just amazing. I also fear willful wasps. Just not the flying kind. Beautiful poem, beautiful photo.

Hahaha! True story. When I started writing this poem on my iPhone, I accidentally pressed the shift key which locked it up and wasp was typed as WASP. I thought of you! Honest to God.
Thank you, Oggy! Your words are like manna from heaven 💝
