The Weeds

I don’t make wishes anymore.

They float away.

Unrestrained

Clutching the earth

Sinking teeth into dirt

Sprouting into monsters

Once held in captivity

Now wild and rampant

Behold the weeds of my iniquity.

    • Hey Morgaine! 😆
Those silly dinosaurs just don’t get that they’re extinct. So good to see you, too! 💗 I tried following you again, but your site isn’t recognizing my email. Fiddlesticks!!

      • I’ve had the same problem with a lot of blogs that I have been following for the last few months. If I click the wordpress icon under the reply box which lets me sign in (for the millionth time!), it usually lets me reply or like. Or if I click the part of the url that allows pop-ups, I can like or reply. Technology-aaarrrgggh! 😀

  1. The winds were indeed strong, but at least this ghost of past Halloweens have arrived to great you, dear friend. It is always a delight to read you calmly, Rose. Wishing your days are nice, mine is when reading you ^^/

  2. Reblogged this on Mitch Teemley and commented:
My Featured Blogger this week is Rose Perez of Poet Rummager. Rose, who sell collectibles and art online, often finds things that, as she puts it, “have hilarious and, at times, dark stories to tell.” And finding these poetical prompts too “thrilling (and) creatively random” to ignore, she simply has to tell their stories.

  3. Hello! It looks like I am not the only one who hasn’t posted anything new since 2022. I have reactivated my account (switched from private to public) so I can get back to posting new stuff again!

  4. Wow, This little poem socked me right in the kisser. I read sins and I read regrets, and I relate quite deeply. Great including the Bible verse. How good to know that God will also forgive these sins of ours.

I hope you are , and I hope , and I hope you are still writing
