Loneliness will sit over our roofs with brooding wings. Bram Stoker, Dracula
Loneliness will sit
in a corner of my room –
brooding and childish.
She’ll rock in my chair –
combing droopy wings all night.
She won’t be quiet.
I’ll toss and I’ll turn –
scaring sleep away and watch
night burn into day.
Ooohhh i still haven’t figured the other layers of your previous poem..
And yet again here you are with these beautiful haikus..offering complex emotions that i am yet to unfold…

Beautiful words…of course! Loneliness; such a vast subject and yes, you can be lonely but not alone…not able to connect…such a difficult one that. xx

Loneliness is broodish, like a petulant child with her bottom lip stuck out, hard to ignore. Metaphorically beautiful haikus, Rose. And I like your collage–summery golds, yellows, browns, and touches of red, offset the brooding woman and angry black birds.

Dark and haunting, Rose. Your haikus capture the essence of loneliness, boil it down, and distill it into its purest form. Great work!

Wondrous transformation: T ==> B in just one place is all it takes to make an utterly commonplace phrase intense and memorable, when “night burn into day” ends a fine series.

Yes, like clothes! I’ve found as I grow older, it takes so much more exercising to not outgrow my jeans. Ugh.
