I sell collectibles and art online and often find the things I've found have hilarious and at times, dark stories to tell. It's thrilling for me to be creatively random, so always expect the unexpected in the things I share with you.
Last week, there was so much anger and heartache regarding our country’s turmoil. It’s wearing many down. I’m glad for your visits and kind words, Og π
Thank you so much. The collage is quite thick, and the found images were mounted on a page from a 120 year old photo album. It’s quite small; about 5″ x 4″. I’d like to mail it to you?
I know you have a new story on your blog, and I’m on my way there in a few minutes. π
Heartache is a useless emotion. Admitting that you have it makes bullies happy. You’re too strong for that. Keep writing your stellar poetry and making your beautiful art. π
I just watched the news….and realized that it has been made legal….the prevention of people from 7 middle east countries to enter US…it is really difficult not to be mad about it..
My prayers and thoughts are with you all there
..
And ohh this is the best piece of art work i ‘ve seen ever from you..
I particularly love the first two lines of the poem.
I know many of us are feeling so upset. I don’t want evil to win though. I want a way to eradicate that tumor.
I hope so. It was good to see the Democrats at the Supreme Court. I just made calls to my Senators and Representative–and I HATE to make calls like that.
Ha! I think I scare my husband more than anything else, Chuckie. You should see him duck away when he knows I’m reading the news. Lol. Thanks for visiting– you know how much that means to me.
I like how you set up your lines- they are a work of art also. Great collage. I haven’t done a collage since I was a child. It looks like something I could really get into
In the slang of some years ago, a drug addict would lament having “a monkey on my back”. The composed chaos of the striking image suggests a similar description for the bewildered anguish of those who are sane and decent when they contemplate the Age of Trumpery. I have a duck on my head.
Love your collage! Petula is adding to chaos, obviously π You are right, it is difficult to escape these tumors, but … if I get infested, I will think of Petula and know that everything will work out in the end π
I absolutely agree with what Inese said, Rose. I didn’t realize at first that the collage was yours. I think it’s great and it suits the moody and dark tone of the poem too. π
Very dark and powerful, in meaning, form and structure. Your artwork here is stunning, my favourite work of yours yet.

America is a great nation. Darkness never lasts forever. Wisdom and peaceful resistance are key; as you know first hand.
Thank you so much, Merril!

I hope you are right, Rose. Hoping for the end of darkness sooner rather than later. It’s getting scary.

Yes, it is scary. We can only hope for the best, Merril. It appears that there are even a few on the other side of the aisle speaking up.
