I grow sharp petals –
keeping them honed to prevent
love from burgeoning.
Give me lust lilies
and wanton, lecherous buds.
Theyβre non-invasive.
Like a weed, love creeps –
pervading thoughts and blinding
those who fall down hard.
I stand on my feet –
yanking love vines by their roots
until my yard gleams.
My pristine garden,
like my heart, is clutter-free.
Only gloom blooms here.
a love so
fine & prickly π

Wow. I really liked this one. Evocative and powerful.
“Wanton, lecherous buds” is a phrase i may have to steal.

Our last conversation, on your blog, was on the back of my mind as I wrote this, because I made it a point not to rhyme (well, for the most part), and I do love to rhyme.
Ha! Sure, I’d love for you to steal whatever you’d like. If you get out of control, though, I do have handcuffs π

Lust lilies? Hmm… I don’t remember seeing those at the garden center. π

I actually got the lust lilies from a grower in South America who specializes in rare blossoms. The thing about these lilies is that they weep this sticky nectar that sticks to everything but your heart. Now, this is something you may not like, BunK — it sticks like the dickens to your funny bone π

Sometimes I sit here and read some of the poetry and other works written and posted on WordPress and think to myself, damn there is an immense amount of talent out there.
This is one of those poems. I am at a loss for words, it just speaks to me. Excellent work!
Cheers! ^_^

Creativelyexplosive.wordpress.com except my stupid & simultaneously awesome IPad won’t allow me to lower case the first c in that blog title. Darn autocorrect.
It is much more minimalistic (if that’s possible) and with the exception of the latest episode of Happy! Happy! Fun Time! Is much happier…ish. Xp I also don’t think it is as well maintained but I am trying and plan on fixing that in the future.
Anywho thank you. I won’t ramble…too much. π

The buds of love have airs that draw and deceive
They promise big with their color but only stay a week
Afterwards they are gone
And you wanting more
But death to a vase
As she walks rite passed without a goodbye
For you this morning because you visited me at Tonys and Tati
Thank you Rose<(')~

Have you written this style of poetry before? I never heard of it. Oh! I’ll send you the Mime Frog poem soon.
Your poetic expression portrays the absolute vulnerabilities we feel inside ourselves.

I wrote a 3 haiku poem about poison not that long ago, but I’d never attempted five before. I look forward to the mime frog poem, but no rush as it is in November when it’s needed. Thank you! With love, it’s not a matter of whether one will experience a broken heart but more of when it’s going to happen.
Have you ever heard the song that goes like this? “When the moon hits your eye, like a big pizza pie, that’s amore!’ ππππ

Reblogged this on ART So Provident and commented:
Reblogging this wonderful 5 Haiku poem that Rose Perez has penned. I have been following her Poet Rummager blog for some time now. She is a creatively random writer who shares unexpected creative posts along with photos by Fly Trap Man. Often dark and humorous, sometimes just blunt or real. Rose Perez sells collectibles and art online and has written a few books too. The muses of Rose Perez are the things ghosts leave behind.
