I sell collectibles and art online and often find the things I've found have hilarious and at times, dark stories to tell. It's thrilling for me to be creatively random, so always expect the unexpected in the things I share with you.
Has anybody done a census of where-evil-comes-from stories to see how many blame women? Eve and Pandora get the blame in the only 2 I know, but 2 is a small sample.
In reply to [September 16, 2015 at 9:02 am] below: OK, from now on I will blame U for zombie economics, climate change denialism, and my toe-nail fungus.
Words in brackets below are 2B clicked on, starting with the blue or black bar at the top of any page on WordPress. Then click on words in the long menu on the left.
[My Site][WP Admin][Settings][Discussion]
U will see a page with “Discussion Settings” at the top and a section titled “Other comment settings” that includes 6 choices. The 4th one lets U enable “threaded (nested) comments” as many levels deep as U want. I have it set to 4 in my blog. (The default was only 2.)
WordPress has lots of nifty functionality, but navigating the menus is NASTY.
I blame Zeus for that. You see, he told Pandora there were cookies in the box. What would you do in her situation? I know your love for jelly donuts so I would guess that you’d open the box, too. No, wait; you’d have your wife open it! 😃
The ongoing battle between curiosity and exceeding one’s allowable boundaries. This is a wonderful lesson in FOCUS. Should we open the box for curiosity’s sake or for growth to expand our universal knowledge.
How many theologians have considered the possibility that “omnipotent” is a simplified way to say something like “X times more powerful than we are, where X is somewhere in the billions but still finite”?
As it happens, reality is too complex for scientific minds also. That’s why we talk about approximations. It really is a tragedy that folks outside science tend to think they know many simple assertions to be flat-out true when the assertions are just good (sometimes very good) approximations for most purposes. 😦
@[Poet Rummager / September 16, 2015 at 6:52 pm] U are smart (and creative), not a simpleton. Dunno whether your schooling did right by science. There is enormous variation among schools in staffing and equipment. Unhealthy social pressures are also common.
To be fair on the poor girl, she did also release into the world lust, intoxication, and idleness, and I’m a big fan of those, so thumbs up to Pandora for making life interesting.

Interesting – Pandora=Eve? Why do we blame everything on women?

OOPS — should have “above” rather than “below” in what I just posted. How about allowing a few more levels of replies?

What?! I don’t know how to do that!

Released greed, pestilence, sins — and still didn’t find where he’d hidden the cookies. Poor little Pandora.

You can’t keep pestilence in a box — it’s a known fact.
I have a theory why evil persists: gods don’t exist.

Pestilence was in its concentrated form, so it actually did fit in the box, but you’re right, it normally doesn’t.
Ssh – mustn’t say gods don’t exist. There are too many devils that live in my blog. I don’t want them to hear that. 😱

Devils love to read that kind of stuff…right?
I don’t know anything about pestilence — I’m just being a jerk.

If they read that kind of stuff, they’ll be even more of an asshole!
And, yeah, I figured the latter. lol

I like things simple, so I’ll stick with omnipotent. Your scientific mind is way too complex for me, Mel 😘
