Excellent Rose.
I even checked the syllables
on the last line.
I should have known better. ☺️

I know the feeling
I’ve lived that life many a time
I still have the scares to prove it
Great one Rose

Blood sucking leach. I love that! I may have to write a poem about one and know just who to dedicate it to. Lol. Thanks Sheldon. 💝

Now I’ve got that song by Poison in my head.
Every Rose has her thorns…

What a thorn! ouch. Well done Mr Fly. Well done, Rose for yet more dynamic words that hit the right spot. I have that feeling it is better not to get too close to those kind of thorns..You might just hurt yourself. hmmm..well….yes.

Those type of thorns hurt. Have you ever been stabbed by one…or five? Fun times.

I have been stabbed by a thorn… or five. Lol. I was a tomboy growing up and hung out with my two rambunctious brothers. Back then, I was pretty tough.
I can imagine you may get stabbed taking your photos although when we visited your parks, I don’t recall any sharp thorns around.

Some pricker bushes around here are spring loaded, so when you brush by them — the stalks launch toward your face…so you have to be quick! Haha.
None of those traps were around the parks we visited. Lucky for us.

Spring loaded?! Scary. You can always wave your sword around. Gee, it’s a good thing you have lightning quick reflex! 🙂 ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Yes. The branches overlap each other and apply pressure…very smart plant! Haha.

Oh, if we are attracted by the looks we get complains to be superficial; if we love the inner self then we get complains anyway. hehe j/k
I love how you change the sense in your endings. ^^

I really like the central image in this poem. I have a long and unhappy relationship with mosquitoes, so there’s a lot of resonance here for me. 🙂
