The velocity of waves crashing hard upon those shores –
tearing walls and smashing doors.
No more do lullabies echo softly through the halls.
No more tender embraces.
No more love’s furtive glances.
The wine glasses once toasted to health and long life,
all shattered in shards; strewn across the ocean floor.
Sturdy bricks laid to build a foundation strong –
now broken and irretrievably lost.
Home sweet home no more.

Beer. Gave up whiskey a long time ago after a hilarious rappelling incident. Which was repelling.

Well, since you can’t wait, here it is. I was given a bottle of expensive whiskey by my ‘boss’ at the time, but I already had a bottle at home. My youngest brother was staying with us at the time. We started with beer and then drank both bottles of whiskey. (Jameson, sponsorships welcome). When I woke the next day I found my brother at the table reading the newspaper. He lowered the paper and gave me an evil grin. I went to make tea. When I came out of the kitchen, I said, “I had the strangest dream last night.” “It wasn’t a dream,” he said. “I didn’t even tell you what it was about.” “Was it about rappelling?” “Yeah.” “Yeah, we did that last night. We rappelled down the side of the building after we finished the whiskey.” No more whiskey for Oggy.

Same brother; keeps a cool head about him until he’s provoked. The other one has an even temper. Until he’s provoked. Far more frightening to behold. Nice boys, all of us. 🙂 Eleven years gone since I’ve had a whiskey. Now I want one. But I’ll stay with the beer. Better safe than sorry.
