By myself, I flew.
Yet, I never could quite soar
being without you.

Nice butterfly image. Look at those green stripes! Very stylish. Wild butterflies (not in a conservatory) are difficult to photograph — it’s very easy to annoy them — and they usually end up fluttering into the wild blue yonder. Never to be seen again.

Such beauty and sadness in your words! Also, from what you’ve said, the wild butterfly sounds too thin skinned and spoiled!π

Well, I think the poem is great, as always. (I often forget to say this in my comments, by the way, because I take it so much as a given. I apologize for all those slips in the past.)
It’s a shame that soaring is is not possible, but on the other hand, flying is no small thing. I can’t even do that. On the other hand, I am pretty good at plummeting.

Oh, I love that you visit when you can! Compliments are nice, but your wit is what I look forward to the most. How lucky I am just to have you check in from time to time!! AND you soar quite well, darling — I read your blog regularly, so I know that for a fact. Give kisses to Shortly and Fluffy but do be careful! π

I may just blow them kisses. It seems a bit safer. π

Please excuse the southern in me, but “dang,” that’s some good stuff ya got there! π It’s so good, I’m going to have to give this to my wife and tell her, “the words just came to me as I was looking at the computer.” I guess I owe you some serious thanks for the consequences of her reading these words!!
Nah, I’d never steal your words (maybe borrow, maybe invest, maybe sell for huge profits…..sorry, I’m losing my focus.)
I have to admit it; I like sentimental. This is such a simple message worded so elegantly it truly touched my heart. I’m so proud you can be mushy. It’s a wonderful trait to possess. I should know, I’m mushy! π

Well, nothing wrong with southern gentry! Thank you, dear Jonathan — I’m always glad to serenade you and your lovely wife (I’ll just do so with my eyes averted!). Lol.
Haha! Thank you for visiting whenever you can and saying such lovely and hilarious things. You make me smile!!
I’m glad you like mushy! One in awhile it’s fun, but then my mischievous side always fights through after awhile π

We put up with each other for 47 yrs, until Alzheimer’s disease took her from me.

47 years! That’s wonderful, Mel. I don’t know many couples who are as fortunate as you both had been.
I’m sorry she was taken away, but what a love story you both shared. β€
