Three Haiku Poems – Don’t Feed Them (For Ryn)

unnamed

I smile as they starve.
Their bones protruding from skin.
I’m hungry, they scream.

I watch them grow small.
Not one crumb from me again.
They hunger for pain.

I’ve dug them a grave.
Fears, no longer being fed,
are in the ground — dead.

  2. Lovely illustration. Great trio of haiku and theme. I’m wary of burying fears – they keep us on our toes and help create a rounded character – too much fear and we become paralysed…too little and we become careless. Perhaps bury them just a little.

  3. Your haikus ushered in a darkness so complete I thought the eclipse had arrived early. And though a little scrawny from lack of food, each fear-filled line was delicious. Your darkness lights the world, Rose.🌞🌎🌞

  4. I love your illustration, Rose! And the haiku trio is awesome! Wish I could bury my fears too but they seem to be from the zombie kind and always come back no matter how often I crunch their skulls under my boots…
