Emotions tethered.
All my life, I’ve walked the Earth.
My pace was measured.
What is this that beats
when for so long all was still?
My chilled heart now leaps.
Shadows have faded.
Light around you, surrounds me –
my soul unshaded.

I’d written the poem first, and the image just came to me. I’m glad you see how the illustration and words go hand in hand!

A fantastic painting, but as for Haiku’s, I’m still trying to work them out. Haha, I don’t think the plumber is quite clever enough for the concise word structuring β β

You’re brilliant! If you can fit pipes together, you can construct a haiku — trust me. Thanks for stopping in, Ivor.

Well, it gets dark where you are, at times with the uncertainty and violence happening there, so I’m happy that you feel a sense of relief. I wish I could give you more of that feeling!

You hit me there bigtime Rose…its true so much and so many is happening right now here and little sense of relief even from the farthest distance would be really nice..

“my soul unshaded.” I love that line, Rose–well, actually that whole final haiku gives me such a sense of peace. Beautiful haiku, and the image goes with it so well–definitely a heart now un-chilled.
