I Sky You

My poem and drawing were inspired by Frida Kahlo’s quote:

Can one invent verbs? I want to tell you one: I sky you, so my wings extend so large to love you without measure.

I sky you
for infinity
with wings
that touch
the wind.

I sky you
in my soul –
limitless
in depth
I fall.

I sky you
with eyes
that seek
to see
beyond reality.

I sky you
with clouds
of thunder
that boom
my surrender.

I sky you
the Moon,
the Stars,
the Sun –
all that existed
before the Earth
was born.

  1. It’s one of the nicer features of the English language: nouns can become verbs easily, w/o having to reregister or change their passwords. Of course, the prigs will fulminate the way they did when “impact” became a verb as well as a noun. That was so long ago that hardly anybody remembers the way the prigs howled at the time.
