For the want of food,
she stole a bright red apple.
Twelve lashes cut skin.

🍏 🍎

Thief. She was cast out
and did walk a lonely life,
for the want of food.

🍏 🍎

Famished appetite
not restricted in her gut.
The heart, too, craved things.

🍏 🍎

Alone in her head –
conversations with herself.
Wanting drove her mad.

🍏 🍎

She fell on a blade.
Smiled as she bled, for there are
no wants when you’re dead.

Speaking of wanting, I’ve wanted a beanie hat of frost for awhile.

Guess what?

I now have one, and it’s made in Canada (yay!! no sweatshops!).

    • Frost beanies rock just as much as meteorite ones! 😊 You’re right; they don’t melt and are always cool. You’re a fabulous designer. I’d say, “Hats off to you, but I want to keep my beanie on! Lol.

    you again Rose. 😎
I think the five Haikus work well together.
    Your Haikus were awesome.
    Especially the last one.
    Good work Red Rose. 🍎

  2. Adorable haiku, and very real, the things that drive us a silent despair and the liberating peace a sudden death can give. I think if first time I am conscious of a benie hat (surely I have seen them in movies) it looks nice and exotic to my eyes, as the ones of pirates from tales (the real ones as the Somali pirates probably have adidas xD)
