A tree bends and breaks
in the wind; as does my will
when you’re touching me.

the image and emotion so perfectly connected – – the photo just brings it all home.

Very nice! What comes first…the photo or the poem?

Thank you, Graham! Well, technically, the photo came first, but it wasn’t this particular one — it was FlyTrapMan’s shown here:
I really like Fly’s photo, and the tree situated in the center is bent, but it wasn’t broken, so I had to find one that was, and that’s when I came across Ms. Furmanczyk’s. I hope to use Fly’s some other time, because it is a monochromatic beauty.
Lol. Sorry for the long answer, but there you have it. 🙂

Stuff to drool over, both the delicate haiku and photo to compliment it, or the other way round. xx

I have a feeling trees prefer to break in the wind.

Or maybe trees just prefer to break wind? 😀 I know someone who breaks trees with swords…

It looks like the tree in the photo broke at least a yr ago and has put out vertical branches from below the break. Those upper-trunk-replacing-branches (it would be 1 unpronounceable word in German!) are now leafing out nicely in their 2nd or 3rd spring. All’s well that ends well.

Excellent poem and photo pair. The sudden rustle of leaves and the sharp intake of breath, the moaning in the wood and in the throat, the crack and the release.
