It was storming. The howling outside was unimaginable.
Jason shrugged on a jacket.
“Don’t go,” his wife begged.
“My cigarettes are in the car. I won’t be long.”
In less than a minute, he was back; terrified.
Scratches and bite marks covered his body.
“Damn, it’s raining cats and dogs!”
**A literal explanation for raining cats and dogs is that during heavy rains in 17-century England some city streets became raging rivers of filth carrying many dead cats and dogs. (Urban Dictionary)

Thought this was going to be a dark tearjerker and was pleasantly surprised with the clever ending. A suggestion to all readers while viewing Rose’s poetry and short stories. Keep your vision sharp and your brain prepared for panoramic thinking in a 360 degree plane. She keeps me on my toes!

17th century? There’s a poodle, a beagle and a west highland terrier floating by my house as I write!

I suppose it could have been worse, like raining wolverines and dingoes. Awesome story.

That’s what I’ve heard from a couple of UK bloggers! We’re getting that here in Washington, too. Watch out for those cats & dogs!! 😉

For reals about > During heavy rains in 17-century England some city streets became raging rivers of filth carrying many dead cats and dogs? Gosh!

Yeah, that’s what I’ve read, and a teacher once told us about that river of filth, too, in England back then when their sewage system was insufficient.

Was the unimaginable howling the dogs on the way down?
