It was storming. The howling outside was unimaginable.
Jason shrugged on a jacket.

“Don’t go,” his wife begged.

“My cigarettes are in the car. I won’t be long.”

In less than a minute, he was back; terrified.
Scratches and bite marks covered his body.

“Damn, it’s raining cats and dogs!”

**A literal explanation for raining cats and dogs is that during heavy rains in 17-century England some city streets became raging rivers of filth carrying many dead cats and dogs. (Urban Dictionary)

  1. Thought this was going to be a dark tearjerker and was pleasantly surprised with the clever ending. A suggestion to all readers while viewing Rose’s poetry and short stories. Keep your vision sharp and your brain prepared for panoramic thinking in a 360 degree plane. She keeps me on my toes!
