Drowning

She struggled to breathe.

Amused, he watched her drown in

the pools of his eyes.

  1. The interesting thing about this haiku can be found in the interpretation. This could be a murder scene; heartless, cold and calculating OR a love scene where a person drowns in the emotions of overwhelming love. Reminds me of the picture where two different objects can be seen depending on the angle you view it. Very cool!

  2. I was more intrigued than amused, because your great poem relates to the story I’m dedicating to you (I won’t use your name if you don’t want me to, and I’m over-selling it.) When I get it done…

  3. Now I know this poem is clearly about James Bond’s better-looking, suaver brother, but to me he sounds like an insufferable bighead. Anyway, while he’s enjoying watching her struggling to breath in those Gulf of Mexico-size eyes of his, I’ve secretly called the coast guard. Hee hee hee.

    (Incidentally, this comment is in no way motivated by jealousy at his being irresistible to women while I’m utterly resistible and a baghead.)
