He possessed her.
Keeping her in his heart –
locking her there with shards of ice.
Razor sharp edges
making her bleed
should she try to leave.
Warmth exuded from her soul –
melting the snow.
Calmness replaced turmoil.
As she turned to go,
He took her hand –
promised her a warmer man.
Looking into his eyes,
she saw icy blue
and kissed him adieu.

Beautifully written—the subject sounds like a real *insert disparaging remark*. If you happen to be the warmth-exuding-soul, bravo. 🙂

I loved your comment! Parts of this poem may have some basis of truth, but perhaps I was the one deserving the disparaging remark. Haha! Maybe. 😀

Wow. A scene easy to envision as many fantasize about its reality. Filled with heat and passion, domination and submission (in a true romantic way.) Feelings that reach deep into one’s soul.
You see, I told you if you kept that little picture of me by the computer monitor writer’s block would dissipate! 😀
To all of Roses’ readers, I am only kidding. There is no little picture!

Lovely words yet again! All my ice has melted. I am a puddle on the floor! Lol
I do have your photo still at my computer! No writer’s block ever. Your biceps steer me clear of it. 😊 Yes, this photo is only imaginary; no worries Dr. J, but what fun to joke about it. haha!!

Cool poem cuz ice is cold. I love that! Did your niece help you with that? 😀
I also borrowed from the title you gave this photo. It wasn’t so much your photo that helped write my poem; it was your title.

I came up with that all by myself! I’m so proud.

Very cute. Lol. Where did you photograph your shards of ice? They look like diamonds.

On top of my car — I photographed the shards and ice flowers during the same morning.
