Oops. Chess pieces were my 1st guess, but then I thought I saw a hole for sprinkling salt from the top of the white queen’s head and concluded that the black king’s hat was a knob. Your hat looks much better.

Nice! Tho I have no use for an Ivan-the-Terrible pepper grinder, I would recommend the one in the picture to anybody who does.
